My NAUI Bio
My name is Billy Hunter, I am the lead Scuba instructor and owner of Scuba Steve’s Aquatic Adventures in Tyler Texas, as well as the faculty instructor for Tyler Junior College and its continuing Education program.
I have been a certified scuba diver sense 2004 . I was born and raised in Tyler where water activities were always a part of my life. I developed an interest in scuba very early in my life. I grew up watching shows like Sea Hunt and Jacque Cousteau’s Under Water World. Living in Tyler I did not think there were any resources to learn to scuba dive so I just let it pass without investigating. In December of 2003 my best friend said we need to get scuba certified. He found Scuba Steve’s and we were off and I never looked back. I continued to take additional classes to increase my skills and knowledge.
After about two years of diving I decided to pursue a career in scuba and became an instructor. I chose to become a NAUI Instructor (National Association of Underwater Instructors) because of the prestige, safety record and worldwide recognition of the organization. I truly enjoy introducing others to the world of diving. My student’s safety and comfort in diving are my primary concerns.
