  • My NAUI Bio

First certified as a NAUI SCUBA Diver in 1978, I spent my high school and college years diving the beaches and Channel Islands of Southern California. During this time I met and married my favorite dive buddy, Cyndi, who shares my passion for diving and travel. My love of the underwater world and interest in sharing it with others led me to earn my NAUI Instructor rating in 1988. Since that time I have actively taught SCUBA diving in Southern California, Florida and Maryland. My diving career has taken me through Public Safety diving with the Riverside County, CA, Sheriff's Department, extensive cave and technical diving over the course of 11 years living in Gainesville, Florida as well as deep mixed gas wreck diving off the Mid-Atlantic Coast near my current home in Frederick, Maryland.
As part of my ongoing support for divers and SCUBA diving, I currently serve as the President of the Ocean Rovers SCUBA Club based out of the Brass Anchor SCUBA Center in Frederick.
Throughout my diving career I have enjoyed many fun times but they always start with preparations for safety. With this philosophy in mind, my wife & I believe that diving education should be FUN but this can only be achieved by starting with SAFETY. Our experience and extensive knowledge of diving environments, techniques and science can provide a solid foundation for anyone looking to start or advance their SCUBA education.
