This Privacy Policy for NAUI Worldwide describes our practices on the collection, use and disclosure of your information by NAUI Worldwide, and subsidiaries and affiliates acting on our behalf (collectively, "NAUI Worldwide").

We at NAUI Worldwide are committed to good privacy practices regarding your personally identifiable information. This Privacy Policy governs your interaction with the Sites and your registration for and use of our online services (collectively, the "Services"). Except as set forth within this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Conditions Use Agreement and other published guidelines, we do not release personal information about our users and visitors without their permission. Information Collection, Use, and Sharing 

If you visit this Website, we automatically acquire data such as the IP address assigned to your computer, the date and the time of the access to the Website, the browser type, the operating system of your computer and the pages which you accessed. We use this information in order to determine how users visit NAUI Worldwide websites as well as for general analysis purposes. This information will not be used to identify you and we will not link it to the personal data mentioned above.

In certain areas of the Sites, such as those in which you complete a profile, create a new account, or enter NAUI-sponsored contests or promotions, we may request that you provide us with certain personal information, such as your e-mail address, first and last name, address, birthdate, phone numbers, photos or biographical information. We may, in such situations, seek to identify which informational items are required and which are optional. We may also collect geo-location based information for the purpose of helping other users find services in their area or the area they are visiting. We may share this information for the sole purpose of providing you this feature. You may opt-out of location based services by editing the settings in the Manage Locator Settings area of your profile.

Users should post profile information only if they wish such information to be shared with other members and potential students. If, at any time, a user wishes for this information to not be visible, the user should edit their profile to remove such information.

In general, we acquire, use and transfer personal data upon your consent and/or to the extent to which this is legally permitted or required.

If you purchase goods on our Website, we acquire, save and process personal data such as your name, billing and delivery address, e-mail address, credit or debit card information and information on the goods you have purchased; we do this to initiate, conclude and fulfil the processing of the sales contract (as well as possible post-contractual obligations). For the delivery of purchased goods, we may disclose your name and your delivery address to transport or courier service providers. We may also disclose your name as well as payment and transaction information to credit or financial institutions in order to process the payment.

If you create an account on our Website, we will acquire the personal data mentioned above in addition to your user name and your password in order to manage your on-line account.

We will use the data provided by you for processing your order.

We also acquire personal data (such as name and contact information) if you take part in a competition or in advertising promotions in order to manage such competition or such advertising promotions and to contact and announce the winners.

Considerations for Children Under Thirteen Years of Age

NAUI Worldwide collects participant information regarding children less than 13 years of age who participate in training programs, which also requires parental approval. Except for the purposed of certification materials and administering NAUI Worldwide Quality Assurance processes, information from such children is kept private, is not used by NAUI Worldwide and is not provided for use by any third party at any time.

While NAUI Worldwide can’t prevent children under 13 years of age from viewing NAUI Worldwide websites, such children may not use or register from services without parental consent.

Please note that we cannot control the acts of users of the Services. All members and visitors should be aware that, when they disclose personal information in a profile or other medium, the information may be collected and used by others to send that person unsolicited email from other parties outside NAUI Worldwide. In the event that you encounter any NAUI Worldwide user who is improperly collecting or using information about you or other users, please contact privacy@naui.org.

We are the sole owners of the information collected on this site. We will not sell or rent this information to anyone.

We will use your information to respond to you, regarding the reason you contacted us. We will not share your information with any third party outside of our organization, other than as necessary to fulfill your request, e.g. to ship an order.

Unless you ask us not to, we may contact you via email in the future to tell you about specials, new products or services, or changes to this privacy policy.

Your Access to and Control Over Information 
You may opt out of any future contacts from us at any time. You can do the following at any time by contacting us via the email address or phone number given on our website:

Depending on which laws apply to your personal information, we may only be able to do some of these actions for you. If you request an action and we refuse to do it, we will explain your legal rights, the reason for our refusal and any recourse you may have.

If NAUI Worldwide uses your personal data based on your consent or to perform a contract with you, you may further request from NAUI Worldwide a copy of the personal data that you have provided to NAUI Worldwide. In this case, please contact privacy@naui.org and specify the information or processing activities to which your request relates, the format in which you would like this information, and whether the personal data is to be sent to you or another recipient.

You can request that we restrict your personal data from any further processing in any of the following events: (i) you state that the personal data NAUI Worldwide has about you is incorrect, (but only for as long as NAUI Worldwide is required to check the accuracy of the relevant personal data), (ii) there is no legal basis for NAUI Worldwide to process your personal data and you demand that NAUI Worldwide restricts your personal data from further processing, (iii) NAUI Worldwide no longer requires your personal data but you claim that you require NAUI Worldwide to retain such data in order to claim or exercise legal rights or to defend against third party claims or (iv) if you object to the processing of your personal data by NAUI Worldwide (based on NAUI Worldwide’s legitimate interest as further set out in the Information Collection, Use, and Sharing section above), which may be required when determining if NAUI Worldwide has a prevailing interest or legal obligation in processing your personal data.

Removal of personal data from NAUI CORE or the NAUI Mobile app

You may request the removal of your user account from NAUI CORE and the NAUI Mobile app by performing the following steps:

  1. Send an request from the email account that is associated with your account and provide the following information:
    • First and Last name as indicated on your account
    • Mailing address as indicated on your account
    • Date of request
    • Acknowledgement that removal of your account may impact your diving certification or membership status with NAUI Worldwide 

We will respond to your request without undue delay within 30 days. NAUI Worldwide reserves the right to take reasonable steps to verify customer identity prior to granting access or processing changes or corrections. Please direct any such request to privacy@naui.org.

Security 
We take precautions to protect your information. Wherever we collect sensitive information (such as credit card data), that information is encrypted and transmitted to us in a secure way. You can verify this by looking for a lock icon in the address bar and looking for "https" at the beginning of the address of the Web page.

While we use encryption to protect sensitive information transmitted online, we also protect your information offline. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, billing or customer service) are granted access to personally identifiable information. The computers/servers in which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment. We follow generally accepted standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. In order to use this website, a user must first complete the registration form. During registration a user is required to give certain information (such as name and email address).
